LATITUDE JOINS L-3, TRILLIUM AND SILVUS AT JIFX

CAMP ROBERTS – MAY 9-13, 2016 – The Joint Interagency Field Experimentation Program (JIFX) — hosted by the Naval post graduate school at the California National Guard’s Camp Roberts — provides an environment to encourage and achieve innovation and collaboration between DoD, government agencies, various industries, and universities. Special Operations Forces (SOF), National Guard, and first responders participate and provide feedback on the effectiveness, affordability, and feasibility of new technologies.

Latitude Engineering was invited by L3 to closely collaborate with Trillium and Silvus, using our HQ60 airframe. During our week at JIFX, we integrated a Trillium HD50 camera and Sylvis MIMO radio–the first time this payload combination has been flown and tested. In addition to this achievement, we had successes with our Power For Flight DA60 engine performance and fuel burn tests, which also included acoustic testing and launch and recovery at maximum gross takeoff weight. Flawless performance took place during the 6 hours of flight time with 4 launch and recovery cycles.
